The Government have confirmed that full Level 5 Covid-19 restrictions will be implemented until January 31st.
In an announcement the cabinet also confirmed that schools will remain closed until January 11th.
The announcement comes as the country has seen a rise in Covid-19 cases in recent days.
Under the restrictions all household visits are banned, a 5km travel restriction will be imposed and non essential retail will be closed.
The restrictions will also see all non elite sports cancelled with Golf and Tennis clubs closing.
