
Hundreds of thousands of people are without power today as Storm Darragh finally begins to move out from the country.
Torrential rain, wind and gusts of up to 141klm have battered the country since 10pm last night.
Ireland got 12 hours of relentless storm force winds that has left trees down around the country and almost half a million without electricity.
Storm Darragh has taken grip of Ireland and currently had at least 400,000 customers without power.
At 7:30am this morning, ESB Networks say some 400,000 homes, farms and businesses across the country are all without power as a result of Storm Darragh.
Crews have been trying to get ready to go out and try and fix what they can throughout the night but currently it is unsafe to do so.
It said further power outages will be be expected from potentially damaging gusts as wind warnings remain in effect until at least 10am this morning.
