Independent Ireland’s Niall Boylan has placed fifth in the 4-seat Dublin MEP race.
Boylan came close to winning the last seat but for horrendous transfers from left-wing candidates who pushed Labour’s Aodhan O’Riordain into the fourth seat.
He certainly did upset the applecart but alas it wasn’t enough to get him across the line.
Lynn Boylan, O’Riordain, Regina Doherty and Barry Andrews will make up the four seats.
