An Irish primary school is to close with immediate effect following a widespread outbreak of covid.
Claremorris Boys Primary School in Co Mayo announced to parents late last night that they were closing until after Christmas due to 12 boys testing positive.
The boys’ ages range from 8 to 12.
The Department of Education are aware of the situation, it’s understood that they wanted the school to remain open until next Friday, but the school made the unilateral decision to close today.
