Judd Trump has claimed his first World Snooker Championship crown this evening defeating John Higgins 18-9 in Sheffield.
In a blistering performance Trump secured his first title claiming the two frames he needed early on in this evening’s session.
Although Higgins put up a spirited performance, Trump’s victory never looked in a doubt as he took a 12-5 lead overnight heading into this afternoon’s session.
Higgins who done well to take the first two frames this afternoon was left facing a mountain to climb as the 29-year-old managed to leave the score 16-9 heading into this evening’s session.
The match was wrapped up within minutes as Trump took the opening two frames to claim the title.
Trump also made history by surpassing £1m in prize money in a single season, after he collected the £500,000 winners cheque.
