On the night that Derek Chauvin was convicted of murdering George Floyd, America is once again rocked by another major death involving police.

Police in Columbus, Ohio have released body cam footage of black teenage girl being shot dead during altercation at a care home.

Already, a large number of protests in Ohio’s largest city have started on thr same night that the nation watched Derek Chauvin being convicted with murdering George Floyd last year by kneeling on his neck for almost 10 minutes.

Releasing police body-camera video of yesterday’s shooting, the Columbus police chief, Michael Woods said that officers involved there were responding to an emergency call from someone who reported an attempted stabbing at a home on the city’s southeast side.

It’s believed that the 16-yr-old girl was the person who made the call for her own safety.

When they arrived, police encountered a manic scene with a number of people fighting on the lawn outside.

A teenager with a knife can be seen lunging towards one female who falls backwards, then lunged at a second female, the bodycam footage shows.

During the incident a police officer opens fire and the girl is seen falling onto he ground.

It’s understood that the police officer of a white man who had been sent home pending an investigation.

The girl who was shot dead has been named as Ma’Kiah Bryant aged 16.

Police say the video was released to the public within hours of the incident in the interest of transparency. Many fear that it could result in chaos once again.
