This year’s Leaving Cert has been officially cancelled and will definitely not be going ahead in summer 2020 or any time this year.
Those students who were due to sit the exam on July 29 will receive ‘predictive grades’ instead.
How this predictive system will work is not immediately clear but many feel that it is highly unfair on those who may have done better in exams rather than throughout the year.
