Gardai have arrested a man this evening and he is in custody following the discovery of a woman’s body in Kilkenny.
It’s understood that emergency personnel rushed to a house shortly after 6pm on Wednesday evening and found a woman’s body in the house on Maudlin Street in the city.
It’s not yet known the age of the woman but it’s understood that the detained man is aged in his late 20s and was arrested by gardai at the scene.
He is currently being held in Kilkenny Garda Station where he is being questioned in relation to the woman’s murder..
