A man in his 20s was fatally struck by a car in a hit-and-run on Railway Street, Balbriggan, Co Dublin, around 9pm last night. Despite emergency treatment, he was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver fled.
Shortly after, Gardaà handled two related public order incidents in the area, which they described as contained with no ongoing public safety risk.
No arrests have been made, and investigations continue. Railway Street is closed for a technical examination, with local diversions in place.
