Gardai have launched a murder investigation after a woman was found stabbed to death overnight in Dublin.
Gardai were called to Greenfort Drive in Clondalkin in the early hours of the morning and found a woman stabbed to death.
A man has been arrested in connection with the murder. It’s understood he knew the victim well and that gardai are treating the incident as a domestic situation.
The woman, aged in her 40s, and man aged in his 50s, were not alone in the house and it’s believed someone else in the house rang the gardai.
The woman’s body has been taken to hospital for a post mortem while the man is being held in Lucan garda station.
Gardai are not seeking any other people at this time.
