An urgent meeting of the National Public Health Emergency Team (NPHET) is to take place following a severe deterioration of the Covid-19 situation across the country. It’s understood that Dr Tony Holohan is not happy with the government’s response and will urge Micheal Martin and Leo Varadkar to impose much stricter restrictions on the Irish people once more.
The outcome of that meeting might be a return to full Level 5 lockdown.
The meeting is scheduled to begin at 2.30pm today, December 30th with the outcome some time later tonight.
