Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky will meet the Taoiseach at Shannon Airport this lunchtime during a brief stopover en route to the United States.
Micheál Martin adjusted his schedule, canceling a planned trip to Belfast to accommodate this meeting. Zelensky’s next stop is the US, where he’ll sit down with Donald Trump tomorrow to hammer out an agreement on America’s access to Ukraine’s mineral resources.
During today’s talks at Shannon, Martin is likely to reaffirm Ireland’s solidarity with Ukraine, building on his recent commitment earlier this week to boost humanitarian financial aid to the country.
