After a harrowing carjacking incident in Co Meath over the weekend, two ladies were taken to the hospital, reports The Mirror.
A man approached a woman in her 40s outside a takeout on Main Street in Clane at around 10.45 p.m. on Sunday night and forcibly dragged her out of her parked car. After stealing the car, the man fled the scene.
During this episode, a second woman, who was in her 20s, was beaten, reports The Mirror.
After being removed from the site, both ladies were transferred to Naas General Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening wounds.
Investigations into the event are still on, according to the Gardai, and officials are urging anybody who saw it to come forward.
In a statement, a garda spokesperson said: “Any person who was on Clane Main Street and its environs on Sunday evening, particularly between 9:00pm and 11:30pm, is asked to contact investigating GardaÃ. Additionally, road users or pedestrians who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) are asked to make this footage available to GardaÃ,” reports The Mirror.
