The national forecaster has issued a Status Red weather warning for Co. Cork as Storm Ellen approaches. It’s strongly advised that people stay well clear of all coastal areas as severely strong, destructive and possibly disastrous winds for coastal areas are forecast.
Met Eireann is now warning of ‘severe and destructive winds’ across southern areas during the night with heavy rain covering the entire country from late evening.
