
Met Eireann say that very stormy weather is rapidly en route to Ireland and the UK with gusts of over 100km/h, very heavy rain and thunderstorms.
The storm is currently moving across the north Atlantic Ocean towards Ireland and then onto the UK.
The cyclone is set to bring 100km/h winds and thundery rain throughout Saturday night and could leave flash flooding in places.
Dublin Airport were forced to cancel numerous flights flying in and out on Saturday with a review in place for Sunday.
Meanwhile, EasyJet in the UK have announced some 234 flights didn’t take off on Saturday, with at least a further 60 cancellations planned for Sunday.
Thousands of people travelling are said to be discommoded by the flight cancellations.
Motorists are advised to be extremely vigilant overnight and tomorrow especially on motorways where crosswinds will be prevalent.
