The Director of Public Prosecutions has directed that there be no prosecution of the Garda who shot a man dead in Dublin three-and-a-half years ago.
George Nkencho was shot dead by the armed garda outside of his house Clonee, Co Dublin in December 2020 after allegedly being involved in a row in a supermarket.
The Garda Ombudsman Commission has announced that it had been notified by the DPP of its decision not to direct a prosecution in the case.
The Ombudsman has also claimed that it had notified the family of their entitlement to a summary of reasons from the DPP of its decision not to prosecute as well as a review of the decision.
