At least one person has been seriously injured and a number of others taken to hospital after a car ploughed into them while they were in attendance at the blessing of the graves ceremony in Dundalk, Co. Louth.
Witnesses say that the car was driven at speed through the graveyard in Dowdallshill and clipped a number of people.
It’s not yet known what the circumstances are behind the incident but a major gardai response was ensued with the ceremony halted and the public asked to get in on the footpath and leave as quickly and safely as possible.
