An Afriqiyah Airways plane with 118 passengers has reportedly been hijacked over Libya and force landed in Malta.
The flight was diverted to the Mediterranean island this morning.
Reports emerging say two passengers on board the Afriqiyah Airways plane threatened to blow it up.
Prime Minister of Malta, Joseph Muscat said he had been informed of a “potential hijack”.
Taking to Twitter he said: “Informed of potential hijack situation of a #Libya internal flight diverted to #Malta. Security and emergency operations standing by.”
