BREAKING: Potential HUGE win for Enoch Burke as two members of his disciplinary panel resign

The long-running dispute involving teacher Enoch Burke and Wilson’s Hospital School has taken another turn. Two members of the disciplinary appeals panel, tasked with reviewing his 2023 dismissal for gross misconduct, have resigned. This followed Burke’s High Court application for an injunction to halt the panel’s work, citing concerns over procedural fairness and possible bias in how the appeal hearing was conducted.

The resignations have disrupted the process, prompting the court to allow Burke’s legal challenge to proceed despite the changes. A judge noted that the departures did not fully resolve the issues he raised. Burke, who remains in prison after repeatedly breaching a court order barring him from the school premises, appeared via video link and described the appeals system as chaotic.

The case has been adjourned to February 20, 2026, when Burke will attend in person to argue further. A new panel may now need to be formed to handle his appeal against the original dismissal, which related to his refusal to use a transgender student’s preferred pronouns based on religious beliefs.
