BREAKING: President Trump announces major U.S. military strikes on Iran and says he wants Regime change

In a dramatic early-morning video posted to Truth Social on February 28, 2026, President Donald Trump confirmed that the United States has launched “major combat operations” in Iran, describing the action as a “massive and ongoing” campaign alongside Israel to eliminate imminent threats from the Iranian regime.

Trump stated the strikes aim to defend American lives and interests by destroying Iran’s missile capabilities, razing its missile industry to the ground, and annihilating its navy. He reiterated that Iran “can never have a nuclear weapon,” referencing prior U.S. strikes in June that he claimed obliterated Tehran’s nuclear facilities at Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan. According to Trump, Iran attempted to rebuild its program and develop long-range missiles threatening U.S. allies, troops, and potentially the American homeland.

The president accused the Iranian government of being a “vicious group of very hard, terrible people” engaged in “mass terror” for decades. He directly addressed the Iranian people, urging them to “take over your government” once the military action concludes, calling it their “only chance for generations” with America backing them through “overwhelming strength and devastating force.”

Trump acknowledged potential U.S. casualties, saying his administration is minimizing risks to personnel while warning that lives may be lost in the conflict. The announcement follows failed nuclear negotiations, with Trump previously expressing dissatisfaction but no final decision on strikes just a day earlier.
