Spaniard Rafa Nadal is just one Grand Slam short of the great man, Roger Federer’s 20th Grand Slam record.
Rafa played an absolutely incredible match against Daniil Medvedev. After 4 and a half hours, Nadal finally got across the line 7-5 6-3 5-7 4-6 6-4.
But it wasn’t without an enormous fight. Medvedev came from 2 sets to love to square it at 2 sets all, something practically unheard of against Rafa Nadal.
Why this is so important is that Roger Federer could conceivably be passed by Rafa, something many thought was unthinkable.
Rafa has won all but one of the French Opens he entered, a feat he’ll more than likely add to next May. What will happen in 2020, well, that’s anyone’s guess.
