A Garda officer has been hospitalised following a road traffic incident in Co Cork this evening.
It is understood the officer was injured when the patrol car he was travelling in collided with a 4×4 vehicle in Ballytrasna.
Gardaí say the officer who was cut from the vehicle by Cork fire service has since been taken to hospital, however thankfully it is believed that his injuries are not life-threatening.
They added that the N22 Cork to Killarney road is closed at Fourmilewater Bridge.
