The same Simon Harris whose strategic communications unit wasted millions on propaganda, who promised the earth on housing and delivered record homelessness, and who crashed Fine Gael’s vote share as Taoiseach, is now Minister for Finance.
Opposition voices didn’t mince words: “This is rewarding serial incompetence with the nation’s chequebook.” With corporation tax windfalls already peaking and Trump looming, Ireland just put the TikTok kid in charge of the economy.
It’s hard to believe what’s going on in government these days.
