It has sadly been confirmed in the past few minutes that the soul singer Aretha Franklin has passed away aged 76.
The news of Franklin’s death was confirmed by her representative Gwendolyn Quinn.
It is understood the ‘Queen of soul’ had been battling advanced pancreatic cancer for some time.
Franklin who was due to host a number of shows, reportedly died in her home in Detroit, Michigan.
The respect singer was tragically diagnosed with cancer back in 2010.
