In Enniscorthy, Co Wexford, homes were inundated, roads submerged, and residents evacuated by boat as the River Slaney overflowed. Dublin saw streets turn into rivers, with emergency services rescuing motorists from floodwaters on roads like Nutgrove Avenue. Power outages affected thousands—ESB Networks reported up to 20,000 properties without electricity at peak—while travel ground to a halt with major disruptions on motorways, including partial closures, and hundreds of schools closed.
