Thousands of people are without power this morning as the storm continues to batter the country, taking power lines and cables down in its path.
Many properties in the south, west and midlands are without power this morning following a night of a complete gusts, winds and mayhem.
Storm Éowyn has made landfall and is currently smashing up the country with severely strong winds.
It appears as though the national forecaster, Met Eireann, has got it right this time with winds blasting up to 130km/h.
The storm started in the sound of the country but is making its way up through the midlands and north as the night and morning go on.
A full red alert has been issued for the entire country until at least 4pm on Friday.
People are advised to take extreme care until the storm passes.
