It’s understood that the children were aged 8 and 10 and were praying at the time.
A tragic shooting at Annunciation Catholic School in south Minneapolis left two dead, including the shooter, and up to 20 injured, including five children. The incident occurred around 8:30 a.m. during an all-school Mass. The suspect, a man dressed in black with a rifle, died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Authorities found multiple IEDs at the scene, and bomb squads are working to disarm them. Ten victims are in critical condition, per CBS News. Parents reunited with students at a designated zone near the school.
Governor Tim Walz called it a “horrific act of violence,” with the FBI and ATF assisting local police. Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey and federal officials, including President Trump, expressed condolences. The shooting follows three other deadly incidents in Minneapolis within 24 hours.
