
Two individuals have been arrested in connection with the fatal stabbing of 34-yr-old Quam Babatunde in Dublin. One arrest occurred in Belfast where a man was detained by the PSNI before boarding a ferry to Liverpool, reports RTE.
The second arrest took place in Dublin following searches in Balbriggan, with the suspect now held at Pearse Street Garda Station, the national broadcaster reports.
The incident unfolded in the early hours of Saturday on South Anne Street, reportedly following a dispute between two groups. Gardaà were notified around 3am, finding Babatunde unresponsive with severe injuries. He was rushed to St James’s Hospital but was pronounced dead later. A post-mortem has been conducted, though results are withheld for operational reasons. Another man in his 30s, also injured in the incident, received treatment for non-life-threatening injuries and has been discharged.
