Gardai have confirmed that they have arrested two men in connection with the death of 20-yr-old Kevin Sheehy who was killed in a hit-and-run in Limerick city in the early hours of Monday morning.
Kevin Sheehy had a promising boxing career and was hoping to make the Irish team Olympic Boxing in 2024.
It’s understood that he is expecting a baby with his girlfriend.
He died when a jeep struck him as he walked on the footpath on Hyde Road, at 4:40am this morning.
Gardai confirm that the driver of black 4×4 Mitsubishi Shogun jeep kept going and didn’t stop.

It’s understood that the two men that have been arrested are being detained in a midlands garda station and are being questioned in relation to Mr Sheehy’s death.
