The State-run Tehran Times newspaper just posted: “Diplomatic and indirect channels of talks with the US are not CLOSED.”

This follows a Wall Street Journal report indicating that Iran had severed direct diplomatic communications with the US, reports RTE.

Israel’s emergency services reported that three individuals sustained minor injuries after more than 20 alerts were triggered throughout the day, warning of incoming missiles from Iran or rocket fire from Lebanon.

In the coastal town of Nahariya, situated less than 10 kilometres from Israel’s northern border with Lebanon, the Magen David Adom emergency service said it treated a woman approximately 20 years old “in mild condition with a head injury from debris thrown by the blast”, following rocket fire, reports RTE.

Paramedics also treated a 46-year-old man in the south of the country who was “in mild condition with injuries to the upper limbs from interceptor debris”, as well as a 36-year-old man in the north “with a shrapnel injury to his lower limbs”.

The three were evacuated to hospitals, Magen David Adom said, reports RTE.

Fatih Birol, the executive director of the International Energy Agency, is set to meet with IMF chief Kristalina Georgieva and World Bank President Ajay Banga the following Monday, Mr Birol announced on X.

He further stated that the energy crisis brought on by the Iran war demanded “all hands on deck and international cooperation,” reports RTE.

The White House rejected suggestions that remarks made by US Vice President JD Vance regarding military operations in Iran had implied any intention of a nuclear strike against the Islamic republic.

Following Mr Vance’s comment that US forces possess tools they “so far haven’t decided to use” to back a stern ultimatum from President Donald Trump, the White House responded on X: “Literally nothing @VP said here ‘implies’ this, you absolute buffoons,” reports RTE.

The post was a direct reply to a message from an account linked to former Vice President Kamala Harris, which claimed Mr Vance had implied Mr Trump “might use nuclear weapons.”

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced that Israel had struck railways and bridges in Iran “used by the Revolutionary Guards”, after Iranian officials confirmed damage to at least two bridges and railway infrastructure, reports RTE.

“We are crushing the terror regime in Iran… with even greater vigour and with increasing force,” Mr Netanyahu said in a video released by his office.

“Yesterday, our pilots destroyed transport aircraft and dozens of helicopters at an Iranian Air Force base. Today they struck the railways and bridges used by the Revolutionary Guards,” reports RTE.

In a statement, the Israeli military said it struck “eight bridge segments that were utilised by the Iranian terror regime’s Armed Forces for transporting weapons and military equipment in several areas across Iran, including Tehran, Karaj, Tabriz, Kashan, and Qom”, reports RTE.
