A young woman has been found dead in Athboy following an assault in a house.
According to RTE, the woman, who was aged in her 20s, was found by Gardai in the house which is situated in the Rathmore area of Athboy. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
A man in his 30s has been arrested and is being detained in Ashbourne Garda Station, while Kells Garda Station have set up an incident room. A post-mortem on the woman’s body is expected to take place.
