Brexit delay: Late night talks lead to extension on deadline

Late night Brexit talks last night have now led to an extension on Brexit.

The crunch talks at a summit in Brussels concluded after midnight Irish time and saw premiers formally announce that the 29th March 2019 should be scrapped as the date that Britain will leave the European Union.

Instead, two new dates of April 12th and May 22nd respectively have been mooted in efforts for Theresa May to finally get a deal across the line.

The proposed deal however is somewhat of a “soft Brexit” in the eyes of Brexiteers and Mrs May is finding it increasingly difficult to get make such a deal happen.

What happens next is anyone’s guess.
