Brexit process to last at least another six months after extension agreement is reached

The UK have be given a further six months to find a deal that will see them leave the EU.

In an announcement made late on Wednesday night, the EU President Donald Tusk confirmed that an agreement has been reached on the extension of Article 50.

Under the new agreement which just barely over the line following negotiations with the French president Emmanuel Macron, the British Government will now have until October 31st to hash out a deal.

However the extension will be subject to a review by the EU in June as member states will look to see if progress is being made.

The latest developments now mean that the British Prime Minister Theresa May and her fellow cabinet members will just over six months to negotiate a deal that will see a smooth transition from the EU.
