The fault with the British air traffic control system has reportedly been fixed, but disruption is expected to continue into the night and possibly tomorrow.
Some 60 flights out of Irish airports have been canceled today, with people being asked to check the status of their flight before traveling to the airport.
Passengers are being warned to expect delays and disruptions to flight schedules to the UK over the coming 24h at least.
