British Labour Party reportedly targeted in ‘sophisticated’ cyber attack

The British Labour Party has reportedly been targeted in a ‘sophisticated’ cyber attack today.

Party sources said that hackers launched a distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) attack, which aims to disrupt web traffic to the point of crashing a website and thus render it inaccessible.

It is understood that the party’s IT infrastructure and security systems thwarted the attempt, however.
