British MP Karen Bradley slammed for saying killings during the Troubles by police were not crimes, they were just carrying out orders

There was absolute uproar both online and from many corners of society after British MP Karen Bradley made a sweeping statement about the Troubles.

The Northern Secretary made the statement in the House of Commons on Wednesday prior to next week’s decision by the North’s Public Prosecution Service (PPS) as to whether former British soldiers will be charged over the Bloody Sunday killings or whether they’ll be let off without any charge.

Bradley said that over 90% of the killings during the Troubles were carried out at the hands of terrorists and that they were all crimes.

She went on to say that less than 10% of the killings during the Troubles were carried out by the military and police and that these were not crimes.

She said that they were acting under orders and they were just fulfilling their duty.

She later was forced to apologise for what many believe to be utterly disgraceful comments made in the first place.
