Mixed bag ahead as the country will see unsettled weather conditions over the weekend with rain, wind and colder temperatures expected




The weather outlook for the weekend is looking unsettled as forecasters say rain, strong winds and colder temperatures are expected over the coming days.

According to Met Éireann, today Thursday will be a relatively dry day, although heavy showers are expected in the North and the West of the country early on.

Temperatures are expected to remain relatively low on Thursday as highs of between 4 to 11C are expected throughout the day, whilst it will become bitterly cold overnight as temperatures are expected to drop as low as -2C.

Friday is expected to see some more heavy rain showers throughout the day with temperatures expected to range between 7 to 9C, although it will be slightly milder in the south of the country.

Meanwhile Saturday will see some heavy showers throughout the day and it will be fairly windy particularly in coastal areas.

There also could be potentially some wintery conditions later on in the as some snow could fall on higher ground overnight.
