Building inspectors order the immediate closure of two schools in Dublin due to structural concerns

Two more schools in the capital, Tyrrelstown Educate Together and St Luke’s National School in Mulhuddart, have been issued with closure notices after building inspectors raised concerns about their structural integrity.

This follows the closure of one of the buildings at the Ardgillan Community College campus in Balbriggan, for similar reasons.

All three buildings were constructed by Tyrone firm Western Building Systems (WBS).

Up to 30 more sites linked to the firm are being inspected across Ireland.
