Bus driver avoids prison despite pleading guilty to raping a 14-yr-old girl




A school bus driver who pleaded guilty to raping a 14-year-old girl who travelled on a bus has been unbelievably given a suspended sentence.

According to 7 News, the man Shane Piche, age 25, from Watertown, was given ten years probation and no jail time despite pleading guilty to third-degree rape.

The sentence which has caused outrage in the US, has also seem Piche being placed on the sex offenders list as a level 1 offender.

Piche who didn’t provide any statement before his sentencing also has three orders of protection place against him meaning he cannot be left alone with anyone under the age of 17.

According to the Daily Times, Piche carried out the rape at his home on Ridge Road.

However despite pleading guilty, Piche was given the lenient sentence as he had no prior convictions and the judge ruled there was only one victim in the case.

Piche was also charged with first-degree unlawfully dealing with a child and endangering the welfare of a child after privided the girl with alcohol.

The sentence has reportedly left the victim’s mother outraged who issued the following statement: “I wish Shane Piche would have received time in jail for the harm he caused to my child.

“He took something from my daughter she will never get back and has caused her to struggle with depression and anxiety.”
