Business Minister Humphreys says that pubs ‘could reopen sooner than planned’ if the coronavirus pandemic is ‘brought under control’

If you’re gasping for a beer garden, well that may be some time off, but pubs in general may be able to reopen before the summer is out if the pandemic gets controlled.

Minister Heather Humphreys has said that pubs ‘could reopen sooner than planned’ if the coronavirus pandemic is ‘brought under control.’

The minister thus spoke during a press briefing also attended by Minister for Finance Paschal Donohoe, who recently confirmed that government ministers will definitely not take a pay cut during the pandemic, and Minister for Housing Eoghan Murphy, under whose tenure homelessness in Ireland has skyrocketed.

All that notwithstanding, pubs might indeed open earlier than planned.
