Businessman Sean Quinn writes to the Vatican to complain about his local priest

Businessman Sean Quinn wrote a letter to the Vatican to complain about the homily of his local priest, which many believe was about Mr Quinn – even though his name was never mentioned.

According to the Sunday Independent newspaper, Seán Quinn wrote a letter to senior figures in the Vatican including the Papal Nuncio Archbishop Jude Thaddeus Okolo, Cardinal Pietro Parolin, Cardinal Marc Ouellet and Cardinal Beniamino Stella.

The letter was also sent to Fr Oliver O’Reilly, who gave the homily, and Monsignor Liam Kelly, who is the administrator of the Kilmore diocese.

According to the Sunday Independent, Sean Quinn denied having any “hand, act or part” in the recent attack on Quinn Industrial Holding Executive Kevin Lunney.

Sean Quinn said that he and his family have been “frightened and intimidated by being falsely accused of complicity in the attack from the altar in public, by my own priest”.
