10,500 benzodiazepine tablets were seized by Gardai in a drugs bust in Limerick.
The tablets have an estimated street value of €21,000. The seizure was made as part of an intelligence-led joint operation between Revenue, An Garda Síochána and the Health Products Regulatory Authority (HPRA) on Monday.
The tablets are a type of tranquilizer, which when taken without prescription can have serious toxic effects. It is believed they had been sent from Austria.
A 59-year-old male was arrested by Gardaí and detained at Henry Street Garda Station, under the provisions of Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996.
