Cabinet to meet today to confirm plans for schools to reopen from March 1st with the Leaving Cert likely to graded or written

It’s looking very likely that the children of Ireland will soon be returning to schools around the country.

The Cabinet will meet today to discuss all scenarios but The Liberal understands that the most likely one they’re going to reveal to the public later today is that from March 1st, primary schools will begin to reopen followed by a phased reopening of secondary schools in the following weeks.

Along with that, the Leaving Cert is going ahead with government sources telling the Irish Independent that students will be offered either a written exam or graded results option.

It’s understood that the government is set to announce all plans late this evening where teachers and students will finally have some clarity as to what is going to happen.
