Calls on social media for something, ANYTHING to be done to stop the homeless epidemic

There have been multiple calls on social media for the government to do something, quite literally anything to stop Ireland’s out-of-control homeless problem.

The latest catastrophic figures from the Civic Offices show that Dublin’s homeless community has grown a further 30% since February.

That means that Irish men, women and children are now sleeping on park benches, doorways and hotel rooms around the capital with the Irish government on holiday.

Meanwhile the Taoiseach Leo Varadkar, Minister for Health Simon Coveney and all their friends in the Dail are enjoying their summer holidays with not a car in the world.

Speaking to RTÉ News, Anthony Flynn, from Inner City Helping Homeless, said the number of rough sleepers has risen 28% in past six months.

He also revealed that the charity had to assist a total of 238 people in just one night earlier this week.

The protest was held held to highlight the amount of homeless people using tents across the city which stands at 40%.
