Following an attempt to plant a car bomb last March, the man who was arrested had the bomb explode in his face. He had serious injuries after the incident.
A parked SUV in Dublin’s South Inner City was the target of a car bomb attack. Around 11pm on Sunday, March 30, neighbors reported hearing a huge blast on the Old Meath Hospital on Long Lane.
Witnesses noticed a man stumbling from the scene following the blast. He was then last seen jumping into a taxi on the junction of New Street and Clanbrassil Street.
The Explosive Ordnance Defense unit arrived on the scene with the bomb squad to investigate the scene.
Gardai from Dublin’s Kevin Street Station, launched a manhunt and today the man was arrested.
