Motorists across the country are in line for a shock, as vehicle insurance premiums are reportedly set to increase anywhere between 8-15% this year.
The expected hikes come on top of a 12% increase in prices last year.
The higher insurance premiums are offsetting the fall in petrol prices.
On average, a 12pc increase in the price of a policy will cost a family paying €800 for two cars nearly €100 extra on their annual premium.
