There are fresh hopes this evening that the cargo ship stuck in the Suez Canal might be refloated sooner than expected.
The Ever Given ran aground on Tuesday last amidst heavy winds and a sandstorm, and became wedged diagonally in the canal, blocking it to all traffic.
It is understood that the ship’s propellers are now working again, so crews are waiting for high tide to see if the ship sails away.
