44-yr-old Sanjeev Chada, from Ballinkillen in Co. Carlow, appeared in the Central Criminal Court today where he pleaded guilty to murdering his two sons, 10-yr-old Eoghan and 5-yr-old Ruairi in July 2013.
The boys went missing with their father on July 29th 2013 after supposedly going bowling. A countrywide manhunt began. A Child Rescue Ireland (CRI) alert was issued nationwide.
Their bodies were discovered the next day at 4pm in the boot of Chada’s crashed Ford Focus, just outside Westport, Co Mayo.
Mr Chada was hospitalised with injuries from the accident before his arrest later that week.
He kept his head bowed down during the court appearance today. Sentencing is taking place at the moment.
