Businesses and homes in Cork are bracing themselves after the City Council has issued a severe weather warning for tomorrow.
In a tidal flood alert published on yes website, the public is warned of an “astronomical high tide” that may give rise to flooding in the City.
Areas particularly at risk are said to be the low-lying parts of the City including Morrison Quay, Sharman Crawford Street and Wandesford Quay.
Cork City has suffered severe flooding before – the river Lee burst its banks several times in February of this year.
After such a serious warning, the best advice has to be to stay inside and make the appropriate plans to counteract any floods that result.
