The case of a GAA mentor accused of assaulting the referee following a youth football match in Wexford last September will be heard in the Circuit Court, reports RTE.
Glen McManus (34), of Clan Dara, Clonard, Wexford, appeared in Wexford District Court on Monday, charged with assault which caused serious injuries.
At he St Joseph’s club ground in Whitrock Hill for a match against Isle of Our Lady on 25 September, McManus is alleged to have punched referee Michael Lanigan shortly after the match, reports RTE.
Mr McManus is also accused of assaulting a second man in the same location on the same date.
